INDONESIA

The Republic of Indonesia is a transcontinental nation that straddles the Indian and Pacific seas, between the southeast corner of Asia, and the western corner of Oceania. Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and portions of Borneo and New Guinea are among the more than 17,000 islands that make up this archipelago. With an area of 1,904,569 square kilometers, Indonesia is the largest archipelagic state in the world and the fourteenth-largest nation overall (735,358 square miles). This is an approximation of the number of universities in Indonesia as of 2022; there are approximately 3000 private universities and 150 state universities for foreign students. Every year, Indonesia hosts about 10,000 foreign pupils.
