Japan is an island state of East Asia. The Sea of Japan, which stretches from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea, Philippine Sea, and Formosa in the south, borders it on the west. It is located in the northwest Pacific Ocean. In total, Japan has 783 higher education institutions, including 605 private, 92 public, and 86 national colleges. In Japan, there are 372 schools, of which 22 are regional and 350 are private.

- Japanese Universities deadline is 27th February
- Some Japanese University requires you to produce the bank certificate to prove that you can fund your cost of living.
- There is a possibility to apply for a MEXT Scholarship, if you have been studying Japanese Language and Culture.
- Some Japanese university requires you to mail the hardcopy of the applications via courier.
- You may need to provide English proficiency certificate in some cases.
